Head Teacher

The Head Teacher role encompasses leadership and oversight of the quality of education and care provided for their pod, promoting and maintaining standards of excellence in the outcomes for enrolled children. Drawing upon their teaching experience to serve as a mentor for new and developing teachers with the skill of offering constructive criticism and helpful solutions without alienating or discouraging them. Will have good observational skills and be able to offer fresh, creative solutions in difficult situations.  Most importantly, dedicated to the improvement of the teaching profession in the ECE sector.

Early Childhood Teacher

The Teacher plays a vital role at Childsteps Early Learning Centre as the first point of contact with the children in our care and their family/whanau.  This role requires the demonstration of sound interpersonal and relationship building capability. The primary role of the Teacher is to provide quality learning outcomes for children and work with other Teachers to form a collaborative teaching environment.

Centre Administrator

The Centre Administrator plays a vital front-line role at Childsteps Early Learning Centre.  The primary role is to ensure the first point of contact for the Centre is professional and pleasant.  Supporting the Centre Manager as well as teaching and support staff,  this role requires the demonstration of sound interpersonal and relationship building capability.

Assistant Head Teacher

This role will be suitable for someone who is eager to take on more responsibility and wanting to learn alongside the Head Teacher. Importantly, has the ability and willingness to take charge during Head Teacher absences.

Centre Assistant

The Centre Assistant plays a vital role at Childsteps Early Learning Centre.  The primary role is to support room teachers to provide quality learning outcomes for children and work within the Centre in a general support role. This role requires the demonstration of sound interpersonal and relationship building capability.

Centre Cook

The Centre Cook plays a vital role at Childsteps Early Learning Centre.  This role requires a high degree of personal initiative with good planning and organisational skills. The primary role of the Centre Cook is to provide quality food for the children at our Centre.
