"What children learn does not follow as an automatic result from what is taught, a large part is due to the children's own doing"

Loris Malaguzzi

The toddler years are filled with curiosity, discovery, and growing independence. At Childsteps, we provide an environment where children are encouraged to explore, investigate, create, and learn through meaningful play experiences.

Our teaching team recognises that toddlers are developing a strong sense of identity and beginning to understand their place within a wider community. Through positive relationships with teachers and peers, children learn to communicate their ideas, express their emotions, develop empathy, and build friendships.

Our curriculum is designed to support children’s natural curiosity while providing opportunities for challenge, problem-solving, creativity, movement, and exploration. We encourage children to make choices, take appropriate risks, and develop confidence in their own abilities as capable and competent learners.

By fostering a strong sense of belonging and wellbeing, we create a learning environment where children feel secure to explore, participate, and contribute. Through these experiences, children develop the skills, dispositions, and confidence that support lifelong learning.

Our childcare centre places importance on small class sizes to give all children the chance to thrive and learn.
